discovering balance through technology

CLE

We do CLE a little differently.

Because our classes are about technology, we put technology to use in our classes. Why? To keep the class dynamic, interesting and (most importantly) effective.

No PowerPoint slides crowded with bullet points, in other words. Expect a more interactive format, which means you’ll get more out of our presentation. You may even learn about some cool new presentation tools to use in your practice.

We also provide written materials that detail everything covered in a class - and more. Materials are available in digital format as well, with hot links for easy access to additional resources online.

We’re currently working on the 2012 schedule, but expect to cover the following topics in both short, focused sessions and longer, more advanced sessions. We hold classes in the Factory at Franklin, just minutes from historic downtown.

A paperless and digital workflow: what it is and how to do it

Creating a (practically) free practice management system: matching your workflow to a no- or low-cost system

Practicing in the cloud: how and when to do it

Virtual law offices: what they are and why you (may) want one

Converting to a Mac-based practice: how to move beyond the iPad and embrace the Mac

How to practice law on an iPad (and nothing else?): learn how to get the most from your favorite tech toy

Creating a firm wiki: what it is, and why you want to have one

Using a practice management system: how to assess your practice and choose the right application to maximize productivity

Social media marketing: what it means for lawyers and how to do it

Your firm website: how to build it - or fix it if you already have one

The business side of law: technology to run your back office

All that is digital: digital records, digital signatures, digital filing, e-discovery

Low-cost and free legal research: where to find it and how to use it

Low-cost and free tools for your practice: from word processing to website creation and hosting

Ethical issues in technology: relevant rules, guidelines and common sense

We’re constantly working to identify areas of interest and develop new programs. If you have an suggestion, please share: info@ilawpractice.com.
